Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1
Marrakech – High Atlas – Draa Valley – Zagora – desert camp
At the agreed time, our driver will meet you at the airport, your accommodation or the exact location in Marrakech that you provide and we confirm. The service is operated in a private, comfortable and air-conditioned vehicle, adapted to the number of travellers. The driver will speak your language.
We will head south, crossing the High Atlas through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass at more than 2,200 metres above sea level. We will make stops at viewpoints and near small Amazigh villages to enjoy the scenery and take photographs. We will then continue through Ouarzazate, known as the Gateway to the Desert, and reach Agdz, where one of the most beautiful sections of the Draa Valley begins. We will follow its extensive palm grove, passing adobe villages, orchards and ancient kasbahs. Lunch will be at your own expense at a restaurant along the route.
In the afternoon, we will reach Zagora. There we will leave the vehicle and continue by camel to the camp, enjoying the sunset along the way. On arrival, you will be warmly welcomed, have dinner and spend the night in a traditional tent. It is important to know that Zagora offers a pre-Saharan landscape, which is rockier and has smaller dunes than Erg Chebbi; it is an excellent option for travellers who only have two days available.
Day 2
Zagora – Draa Valley – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
If you wish, you may get up early to watch the sunrise. After breakfast, we will return from the camp by camel and continue our journey in the private vehicle. We will travel once again through the Draa Valley, making stops whenever the schedule and road conditions allow.
We will continue towards Ouarzazate and the ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, an adobe fortress declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and used as the setting for numerous film productions. You will have time to explore it at your own pace; entrance fees to paid areas and lunch are optional. The Kasbah of Telouet may only be added if previously agreed and if the schedule and road conditions allow.
In the afternoon, we will cross the High Atlas once again. Arrival in Marrakech is usually at the end of the day. Our driver will drop you off exactly at your accommodation, the airport or another previously agreed location in the city. This excursion covers approximately 700 km in two days, making it an intensive experience designed to make the most of a short stay.
