A private circuit starting and ending in Marrakech, with three city nights and a complete journey through Dades and the Erg Chebbi dunes.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Marrakech – transfer to the riad
Whatever your arrival time, our team will meet you at the airport, station, your accommodation or the Marrakech location agreed in advance. The transfer is provided in a comfortable private air-conditioned vehicle.
On arrival at the selected riad, we will assist with luggage and check-in. The rest of the day is free for rest or a first introduction to the medina, depending on the schedule and your energy.
Dinner is served at the accommodation, followed by the first overnight stay in Marrakech. Viajes Almoravid assistance is available from this moment and throughout the circuit.
Day 2
Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Rose Valley – Dades Valley
After breakfast, our Spanish-speaking driver collects you from the riad and the journey heads southeast. We cross the High Atlas through the Tizi n’Tichka pass at more than 2,200 metres, stopping at viewpoints and near Amazigh villages for scenery and photographs.
Beyond the mountains we visit the UNESCO-listed ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, an impressive fortified adobe settlement used in numerous productions. Paid entrances are optional.
After lunch at your own expense, we continue through Ouarzazate, with an exterior view of Taourirt Kasbah when timing allows, and drive on to the Skoura palm grove. The route then follows the Rose Valley and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to Dades Valley, where dinner and an overnight stay are provided in a selected riad or hotel.
Day 3
Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Tinjdad – Touroug – Erfoud – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi
After breakfast we continue through Dades landscapes to Todra Gorge. There is time to walk beneath its imposing rock walls, which rise more than 200 metres in places, and experience the canyon shaped by the river.
The route passes Tinghir and the palm groves of Tinjdad and Touroug, offering views of villages, crops and everyday life in southern Morocco. We then reach Erfoud, known for fossils and stone workshops. Lunch is at your own expense.
In the afternoon we arrive in Merzouga at the foot of the Erg Chebbi dunes. We leave the vehicle and begin the camel ride, normally one camel per traveller, to enjoy sunset and reach camp. Guests who prefer not to ride may request a 4x4 transfer in advance, subject to the confirmed package.
Dinner, traditional music when scheduled and a night beneath the Sahara sky complete the day. The tent category and availability of a private bathroom and shower will be clearly stated in the quotation.
Day 4
Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Tazarine – N’Kob – Draa Valley – Agdz – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Guests who wish may rise early to watch sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast and time to freshen up, we return to Merzouga by camel or 4x4 according to the booked service and rejoin the private vehicle.
The journey passes Rissani, the former capital of Tafilalet. When the market is open and timing allows, there may be time to experience its traditional atmosphere. We continue through Alnif, Tazarine and N’Kob among desert scenery, plateaus and adobe villages. Lunch is at your own expense.
Farther west we reach Agdz and follow the Draa Valley, known for its vast palm grove, gardens and kasbahs. After passing Ouarzazate again, we cross the High Atlas through Tizi n’Tichka.
Arrival in Marrakech is expected at the end of the day. This is a long travelling stage and its duration depends on stops, traffic and weather. Dinner and accommodation await at the riad.
Day 5
Marrakech – free day
After breakfast the whole day is free to enjoy Marrakech at your own pace. You may explore Jemaa el-Fna square, the souks, the Koutoubia area and the lanes of the medina, with time for shopping, food or rest.
An official Spanish-speaking local guide may also be requested. This service must be booked in advance and is not included in the basic tour package.
At the end of the day you return to the same selected riad, where dinner is served before the final overnight stay.
Day 6
Marrakech – airport transfer
After breakfast, the available time depends on the departure schedule. When timing allows, you may make final purchases, take a short walk or rest at the accommodation until the agreed collection time.
Our driver will collect you with sufficient time for the private transfer to Marrakech airport. When departure is from the station or another city location, the service is adapted to the point confirmed in advance.
This final transfer completes six days through Marrakech, the southern kasbahs, Todra Gorge and the Erg Chebbi dunes. The Viajes Almoravid team wishes you a pleasant journey home and hopes to welcome you back to Morocco.
