Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1
Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen
On arrival, our Spanish-speaking driver welcomes you at Tangier airport or port. If you are already staying in the city, pickup may instead be arranged at your hotel or another exact location. The tour is operated in a comfortable private air-conditioned vehicle.
We travel first to Tetouan, known as the White Dove. Once the capital of the former Spanish Protectorate, the city preserves an interesting mixture of Moroccan and Andalusian influences. There is free time to explore its UNESCO-listed historic medina. The length of the visit depends on your Tangier arrival time.
We then continue to Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. An official Spanish-speaking local guide leads you through the blue lanes of its medina, squares, craft shops and panoramic corners. Following a late arrival, the visit may be adapted or moved to the next morning.
At the end of the day you stay in a selected Chefchaouen riad. The overnight stay and breakfast are included; lunch, dinner, drinks and admission fees are at your own expense.
Day 2
Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez
After breakfast we travel south. If part of the Chefchaouen visit could not take place the previous day, a short period may be reserved for it before departure whenever the overall schedule allows.
The first major stop is Volubilis, one of Morocco’s most important Roman archaeological sites and a UNESCO World Heritage property. You may explore its ruins, the Arch of Caracalla, columns and preserved mosaics. Admission and any specialist site guide are not included and are paid directly.
Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities, lies only a short distance away. According to available time and opening hours, there is a stop to see landmarks such as Bab Mansour, El Hedim square and the area around the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Lunch is at your own expense.
In the afternoon we continue to Fez. The driver drops you at a selected riad in or near the medina for the first of two nights, with breakfast included and dinner at your own expense.
Day 3
Fez – guided city visit
After breakfast you meet an official Spanish-speaking local guide to discover Fez. Its vast UNESCO-listed historic medina preserves an exceptional architectural and craft heritage.
Depending on opening times and the group’s pace, the visit may include Bou Inania Madrasa, Nejjarine Fountain, the exterior of Al Quaraouiyine Mosque and University, the souks and artisan quarters, especially the famous tanners’ district. Monument admission is not included and is paid directly.
The afternoon is free to continue exploring, visit the Mellah, see the Royal Palace gates, enter museums or shop for local crafts. The guide can offer advice to help you make the most of your time.
You return to the same Fez riad for the night. Accommodation and breakfast the following morning are included; lunch, dinner and drinks are at your own expense.
Day 4
Fez – Tangier – airport or port
After breakfast and check-out, we begin the return journey to Tangier in the private vehicle. Departure is arranged around the confirmed flight or ferry time, leaving sufficient time for the drive and embarkation formalities.
When the departure schedule allows, there may be free time in Tangier for a walk through the medina or an independent visit. This is not guaranteed for early departures and is always adapted to traffic and terminal check-in requirements.
At the agreed time, the driver takes you to Tangier airport or port. This transfer completes the private four-day tour of northern Morocco.
