Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
Our professional Spanish-speaking driver welcomes you at Ouarzazate airport, your hotel or the agreed location. The programme is adapted to your arrival time. We visit the UNESCO-listed ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, explore its lanes and enjoy panoramic views. Paid admission and any local guide are optional. We return to Ouarzazate for dinner, breakfast and a selected hotel or riad night. A late flight arrival may require the visits to be adjusted.
Day 2
Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Alnif – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi
After breakfast we travel through the Draa Valley, with its palm groves, adobe kasbahs and Berber villages. Lunch in the Alnif region is at your own expense. In Merzouga, a camel ride—normally one camel per traveller—crosses Erg Chebbi at sunset; a pre-arranged 4x4 alternative is available when included in the quotation. Berber tea, dinner and camp accommodation are included. Tent category and private bathroom and shower availability are confirmed in the quotation.
Day 3
Erg Chebbi – Khamlia – nomad families – Merzouga
After an optional sunrise and breakfast, we explore Erg Chebbi by 4x4, subject to track and weather conditions. The day may include former Dakar Rally tracks, fossil and mining areas, small oases and dune viewpoints. We respectfully experience Khamlia’s Gnawa musical tradition and, when available, share tea with a nomad family. Lunch is at your own expense. Dinner, breakfast and accommodation are included at a selected Merzouga hotel. Cultural encounters are subject to local availability.
Day 4
Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
After breakfast we travel to Rissani, with a market visit when it is open and timing allows. We continue to Erfoud, where fossil workshops and purchases are optional, then reach Todra Gorge for a walk between its high rock walls. Lunch is at your own expense. In the afternoon we continue to the Dades Valley for dinner, breakfast and accommodation in a selected hotel or riad.
Day 5
Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate – airport
After breakfast we return along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing the Rose Valley and Skoura palm grove with panoramic stops when timing allows. In Ouarzazate, Taourirt Kasbah or the film studios may be visited optionally, subject to opening hours and flight time. Airport transfer takes priority and is planned with sufficient time for departure formalities. The five-day circular Viajes Almoravid tour ends at Ouarzazate airport.
